Jill Andrews has been a musician all her life: from her first original tune in kindergarten – a ditty about the letter P – to the stage at Fillmore East. Jill picked up a guitar for the first time when she was 19; armed with only three chords, she had all she needed to create deep and soulful songs with lonesome melodies and haunting lyrics. In 2003, Jill teamed up with Sam Quinn to create the everybodyfields—it was an undeniable musical union. And the face of Tennessee’s roots music would never be the same. The everybodyfields played Bonnaroo and Floydfest, honkytonks, bars, and theaters from coast to coast. Paste Magazine listed them in their “Best of What’s Next” issue in September 2008, saying that they “straddle old and new, bitter and sweet, desperation and transcendence with an arresting command.” Jill’s taking that arresting command into her new solo project, but the themes will be familiar, and fans who’ve fallen head over heels for her material can expect that signature alt-country, roots-rock sound to deliver and grow. Her songs will warm you like a winter quilt – or chill you to the bone. Either way, when you hear Jill Andrews sing, you will remember it.

Greenville locals, Coma Cinema, released their debut album entitled “Baby Prayers”, at the start of 2009. The band has been writing and performing music since 2005 and derives their name from the English translation of Komakino (“Kino” means “Cinema” in Polish), a 1980 single by Joy Division.
Coma Cinema’s music is considered an abstract form of Pop Music and calls respectable comparison to bands such as Sonic Youth & Guided by Voices.

Pulling influences from Post-Rock bands like Explosions in the Sky and Mogwai, East North pursues inspirational instrumental music with a clever nod towards Prog-Rock. Imagine the strong musical imagery of Godspeed You! Black Emperor melting with the progressive tendencies of Yes. Formed nearly two years ago, East North spent much time scrutinizing every note of their songs to make sure that nothing would come off as cliché or insincere. With everyone pushed to the edge of their musical ability, Chas Whitmire (guitar), Drew Mashburn (guitar), Matt Mashburn (bass), and Christopher Morris (drums) still manage to put a lot showmanship into their performances while maintaining sonic integrity. If you like Post-Rock, but are looking for something new, you need to hear or see East North.Currently they are promoting their debut EP, “The Midnight Hunt.”

Born in South Carolina in 1984 to mom and pop owners of one of the oldest independent record stores in the Southeast, Horizon Records, Aaron grew up largely under a record bin and was playing in nightclubs and bars by fourteen. Originally an upright bass player, Aaron left South Carolina for New York City at age seventeen. He toured and recorded with a variety of folk and blues bands before eventually moving to a basement studio in the Hispanic section of Brooklyn where he picked up guitar and began to write songs and sing in 2005. During his time in Brooklyn he fronted a four piece psychedelic folk band formed as a backing group called The Heavy Love.
His affinity for traveling and singing deepened when he met and befriended the legendary bluegrass troubadour Peter Rowan, who was lead singer for five years in the 1960’s for American music icon Bill Monroe as well as contemporary musical counterpart for artists such as Tony Rice, Jerry Garcia, and Sam Bush. Before departing for the road himself he joined Rowan on bass at The Windgap Folk Festival in Pennsylvania as the headlining act and performed in front of thousands. During this time he also met Chris Hillman of The Byrds, a temporary member of the of band’s dynamic lineup.
In the last half of 2007, Berg traveled over 15,000 on the road from the coast of North Carolina to California’s Pacific and back to the very same beach four months later. In 2008, Aaron returned to his native South Carolina where he began to record in a two-room garage apartment in his hometown of Greenville located just across the border from Asheville, NC. The resulting tracks combined with live road tapes, rap remixes, and the occasional thread-bare hotel demo make up the monthly podcast ‘Love & Coffee’ which is distributed as mp3s by email.
Critics from New York to Nashville have described the live show as “riveting and uplifting from one hypnotic twist to the next…” and “…another Dylan on the cusp of something else very big.”
Berg’s second full length studio album titled ‘River Taxi Man’ will be released in the Winter of 2010. Aaron will also be recording a brand new CD/LP in Chicago for Tight Ship Records this November 2009 due to be released soon after!

Hailing from Asheville, North Carolina with the release of their first studio album,Irene, The Honeycutters (formerly the Bee’s Knees) came together in the Spring of 2007. Their original Americana, ranging from country ballads to honky-a-billy and blues, is a memorable blend of catchy melody, skillful composition, and honest songwriting.
Since their first live performance at the Westville Pub in May of 07, when the band included only singer/songwriter Amanda Anne Platt and lead guitarist Peter James, they have steadily gained momentum, audience, and band members. Spencer Taylor (Mandolin), Ian Harrod (bass), and Mike Lott (drums) have been added to the mix, fleshing out the live sound and turning Amanda’s soulful tunes into great dance numbers.

Me and My Friends, is the debut record from the 25 year old singer-songwriter, Matt Butcher. Released in early fall of 2008 after a successful Spring tour opening for friends the Avett Brothers, Orlando Weekly dubs Butcher as, “the area’s prince of Americana.”
The music brings to mind artists of the late sixties and early seventies. “I wear my influences on my sleeve. Proudly. I’m not trying to re-invent the wheel. Just keep it spinning,” says Butcher. The influences are there, but the voice is entirely his own. Butcher writes with a wisdom and maturity that belie his twenty-five years.
